Tulare Sci-Fi Con Donation - |
|
|
Greetings....
Well after
crunching all the numbers, paying all
the bills.....
The first Tulare
Sci-Fi Con had a net profit of $3233.41
to be presented to the Tulare Library
Foundation for the Tulare Public Library
Children's Section.
This was our first
convention and a huge undertaking. I
want to thank everyone who came out to
support us in this effort.
We have decided we
will do this again next year and have
chosen the Tulare Library Children's
Section to raise funds for in 2015. We
will continue to raise funds for this
cause until they have the funds they
need to revamp/update the Children's
Section.
I apologize for
not posting pictures yet. I am only one
person and will be posting photo's in
the next two weeks, as well as
announcing the date for 2015's Tulare
Sci-Fi Con. |

Update:
On April 22nd we found out an anonymous
donor, donated $1000.00 in the Tulare
Sci-Fi Con name bringing our total
donation to $4233.41. Thank you so
much to whom ever donated. |

Tulare Sci-Fi Con Wrap-up - |
|
|
What an Amazing first convention. It
meet and beat all our expectations. The
Tulare Sci-Fi Con had approximately 1000
attendees over the course of 8 hours.
A huge thank you to Tulare Library
Foundation (for sponsoring the event, to
raise funds for the Tulare Public
Library Children’s Section),
International Agri-Center (for their
support and an awesome venue), Combat
Radio (and Ethan Dettenmaier for his
support, advertising, promoting the
event and bringing in many of our
celebrity guests.) Thank you to the
celebrities who came out to support us,
(George The Giant (McArthur), Erin
Fitzgerald, Steven Sievers). Thank you
to Jedi Fly Promotions for bringing C
Andrew Nelson. Thank you to our local
celebrities and media guests, Phil &
Belinda Cable for their support,
guidance planning the room(s) program
schedule. Kaci Hansen, Scott Seargeant,
Rex Williams, Jimmy Willis (and their
Kung Fu, performance group), Edward
Luena, and direct from the set of Z
Survive Jeff Meacham and Douglas Phnix.
And anyone I may have missed.
Thank you to all our exhibitors,
artists, media, celebrities, fan groups
and especially the public for coming to
support our first event.
Thank
you to DJ Collectable Shoppe for
bringing the Heroclix Tournament to the
convention.
Thank you to 19th St
Antique Mall for donating 100 comics,
used as a door prize for the first 100
children threw the gate. Thank you to
the exhibitors who donated items for the
Silent Auction and raffle.
And A VERY SPECIAL
super thank you to the volunteers who
worked all day to make this event a
SUPER success. We couldn’t have done it
without you!!
We hope everyone
will come out in force and support us
again next year!!!

Approximately 9 hours till the doors
open for the First Tulare Sci-Fi Con. We
look forward to seeing everyone there.
I haven't been able to update the
site(s) or announce a few more guests
due to being at the International Agri-Center
all day for setup. If I have time

We are pleased to announce that
STEVEN SIEVERS
will be appearing at TULARE SCI-FI CON.
Steven Sievers is the co-creator, writer,
animator, producer, and voice of Daniel the
Turtle for the award winning
animated series/comic book Supa Pirate Booty
Hunt.
Supa Pirate Booty Hunt is proudly working for
the non-profit Music Saves Lives. An
organization that encourages young adults to
donate blood though the power of music and
entertainment.
Steve Sievers is producing animated PSA
episodes/comic books with each one pairing Supa
Pirate Booty Hunt characters Cpt
Zack the pirate & Daniel the Turtle up with a
different music & entertainment celebrities.
Steve also just released his first film he
directed called Supa Pirate Booty Hunt "The
Documentary" which goes behind the scenes of the
animation. |

entire Central Valley. We believe that enriching
our community by hosting offbeat events to
participate in is far more rewarding than
focusing on monetary gain. For these reasons, it
is extremely important to us that we keep our
events as low-cost as possible, if not free of
charge. We also strive to give attendees an
opportunity to explore a creative side of

The club is a 501c(3) non-profit group
dedicated to the reenactment of
historical events, and providing
scholarships.
We are the group
behind the Annual Tulare Renaissance
Festival of which this is our 25th year.
In order to host this event we operate a
Sarsaparilla Booth called the Weasel
Inn, and at additional Renaissance
Fairs, Civil War Reenactment, Scottish

exhibitor application date has been
extended to March 25, 2014.
Exhibitor application, Payment (if
applicable), Badge Request and BOE-410-D
must be turned in (for all exhibitors)
to TSFC by March 25, 2014.
Exhibitor applications
postmarked/received after March 15th,
must pay CASH at
registration check in, no checks will be
accepted after that date. Turn in all
the forms as soon as possible. All Concessions/Food
vendors must submit the above forms along with their
Food Safety Permit.

PHILIP CABLE
will be appearing at TULARE SCI-FI CON.
Mr. Cable is the playwright and
founder of "Sunshine Theatre". He has
had columns in such magazines as "Just
Imagine" and "Beyond Antares". Has a top
selling filmmaking book: "The
Independent Filmmaker's Guide to Writing
a Business Plan for Investors". He
became a writer for TV the mid-70s
scripting sci-fi kid shows for CMC
Productions. In the 90s was made
Vice-President of the movie distribution
company: LEGUM-SAPIR. Has given lectures
to groups which include the Screen
Actors Guild, Women in Film, stunt
classes and major sci-fi conventions
(including Comic-Con International). He
is currently the President of AAA
American Entertainment. He is also the
author of the book "Make Movies That
Make Money!" The Low-Budget Filmmakers
Guide to Commercial Success.

C. ANDREW NELSON
will be appearing at TULARE SCI-FI CON
as a guest of Jedi Fry Productions at
their booth. He is an actor,
visual effects artist, animator, and
lecturer.
Nelson spent six years
at LucasArts Entertainment Company where
he was a VFX supervisor and senior
artist. He is most notable for having
played the role of Darth Vader for
Lucasfilm since 1994. His appearances as
Vader include LucasArts' Star Wars: Dark
Forces and Star Wars: Rebel Assault II:
The Hidden Empire games, the Special
Edition of Star Wars Episode V: The
Empire Strikes Back, commercials, print
ads, TV shows, and magazine covers. When
artists at LucasArts had difficulty
animating Vader's movements for the cut
scenes in Dark Forces, Nelson was filmed
as Vader. |
